Where: Van Cortland Park Ave & Spruce/Linden St

YPD responded to shots fired on Van Cortland Park Avenue and  Spruce.

Shortly after, when Police Officers were on the scene of another incident (Linden St and Park Hill Ave) a woman came out of a van screaming that she had a man inside the van that had been shot.

The officers quickly figured out that this man had been shot on Van Cortland Park Avenue and Spruce.

What was not clear to us is if the victim was the target or if this was a drive by shooting.

Our sources also told us that the victim is the brother of the young man who was fatally shot last year around the same location and then dropped at St Joseph's Hospital.

The victim was transported to Jacobi Hospital but he did not appear to be in serious condition.

We wish him well and hope for a quick recovery.
