This Sunday, St John The Baptist Church On Yonkers Avenue Welcomes Yonkers Bravest to The 9;30 Mass For A Mass And Communion Breakfast.

May God Bless And Protect The Yonkers Firefighters Who Bravely Run Into Burning Buildings, Even When Mike "Let's Fire 24 Teachers And !2 Cops" Spano Moves To Take Away Their Retirees Benefits.

The good citizens of Yonkers and especially the members of St. John the Baptist Parish are most grateful to the Yonkers firefighters and their families for the sacrifices they make and for all they do in the community.

Monsignor Mallory has repeatedly said over the years that the parish is honored to have the firefighter with them over the years.

May God Bless The Front Line Firefighters And Keep Them And Their Families Safe, As They Rush Into Burning Buildings To Protect And Serve Us

FLASHBACK: Yonkers Firefighters carry the body of Lt. John Rodriguez At St. John The Baptist Church in Yonkers

PICTURED: Mourners gathered Monday for the funeral of Yonkers Fire Lt. John Rodriguez, who died Tuesday of a 9/11-related cancer.

A large contingent of firefighters attended the funeral at St. John the Baptist Church in Yonkers for the 53-year-old married father of two.

A native of Cuba, Rodriguez joined the Yonkers Fire Department in 2000 and served with Engines 308, 311 and 303 and Ladder 71. He was promoted to lieutenant in 2012 and assigned to Engine 310 then returned to Ladder 71.

During his more than 15 years with the department, he received a Class B award for Hurricane Sandy, three unit citations, a Commissioner Award and a letter of commendation.

Shame on Mayor Mike Spano who wants to take away benefits of retirees like this in Yonkers,
