19-Year-Old Girl Killed In Central Park Avenue Rollover In Yonkers


This is really a tragic incident. The young woman, Nina Cordero a Roosevelt HS graduate, was ejected from a BMW M5 during a high speed rollover that took place Saturday evening on Central Park Avenue.

The driver, who has not been identified, was driving north through the underpass below Tuckahoe Road. As he came out of the underpass and approached Sadore Lane he somehow lost control of the vehicle and the car rolled over. at a high rate of speed. Just senseless.

YONKERS - A 19-year-old woman was killed when she was flung from a car that rolled over on Central Park Avenue in Yonkers on Saturday. The woman...was a passenger in the vehicle, police said. The driver and a second passenger were hurt but their injuries aren't life threatening, police said. The accident took place about 7:15 p.m. near the intersection with Sadore Lane.

Cordero was born in Yauco, Puerto Rico. She played volleyball, softball, basketball, took part in cheerleading and was set to begin classes at Southern Westchester BOCES in September. She was a former employee at Lord & Taylor at Westchester's Ridge Hill. Link

MIKE BREEN, YONKERS COUNCILMEMBER, 5TH DISTRICT


Mike Breen has been a resident of Yonkers for the past 28 years and has lived in southern Westchester his entire life. For 24 years, Mike has lived in his Longvale neighborhood, where he was the president of the homeowners group for many years.

He has been very active in the community, not only with his homeowners group, but also as a member of the 1st Precinct Community Council and the Tuckahoe Road Watchdog Group, a coalition of civic groups in and around the Tuckahoe Rd corridor.

He is a longtime member of the St Joseph's Men's Club where he served as treasurer and still coaches the girls' softball team.
He is one of the owners of Pondfield Trip Service, providing his clients with personalized service to area airports and NYC for over 31 years. For 14 years he has been a volunteer member of the Westchester County Taxi & Limousine Commission. He is a graduate of Fordham Prep and Fordham University, where he graduated with a BA in communications.

He attended the Fordham Graduate School of Business in Tarrytown.
Mike and his wife Patty have been married for over 30 years and have four children: Patrick, Katherine, Megan and Danny.
