Yonkers library, Board of Education to get flood reinforcements

About $1.1 million in construction at 1 Larkin Center near the waterfront is expected to start in August and run through November. The work is designed to improve the building's flood resistance, and the upgrades are a response to Hurricane Sandy, which in 2012 left the building's basement flooded with about five feet of water.
