Martin Antonio Perez was man who died way too soon and is missed by his entire family and all the people who loved him.

SAD REMEMBRANCE: County Legislator Virginia Perez and her family must face on the 10 year anniversary of the death of their beloved family member Martin Perez.

Twenty Five Year Old #MartinPerez, who had only been working at the Emerald diner for just two weeks when he was shot dead over eighteen dollars worth of food

Martin Perez came into the world as a gift. He was born on his mother’s birthday, and was named for his mother, Martina. He was a muscular guy who loved martial arts.

A few years ago he battled cancer and won.

Martin Perez didn't know that he should fear delivering food to fifty Hawthorne Avenue - a massive apartment complex with over 400 units.

Fifteen other delivery guys have been robbed this past year in Yonkers.

Police were alerted by his coworkers after Perez never returned back to work after going on the delivery call.

Martin Perez was a young father who was said to be working extra hours at Emerald Diner to give his daughter a nice Christmas.

YONKERS RUMORS: People Are Saying Mayor Mike Spano gave Jose Roman, who likes yelling at Corazon Pineda Isaac's mother, a job at City Hall.

NEWLY HIRED: He supposedly took over Wilson Terrero's old work force job.

#HIMTOO: People at the Yonkers Tribune commentators had previously spilled the beans about Jose Roman allegedly, losing his previous city hall job for trading section 8 apartments for sex.

HR NIGHTMARE: Hopefully the bow tie wearing Jose Roman wont cause Yonkers taxpayers to be hit with Sexual Harassment lawsuits

EASY WORK: It's pretty much a no-show job that some suspect was given , because the mayor probably wants Jose Roman campaigning for his run for the senate.

CRAZY POLITICS: This seems like a losing strategy since all of Jose Roman's  campaigning for Wilson Terrero had him coming in second to Yonkers City Council Woman Corazon Pineda Isaac

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST: Mayor Mike Spano had better hope that Shelley Mayer  or Katherine Brezler don't get a hold of any reports about trading section 8 apartments for sex in Yonkers.

LOL... You Can Put A Bow Tie On A Pig, But It Is Still A Pig

ROFLMAO.... Is #Alfred Rodrigues Trying To Add A "P" To LGBTQ For Pedosexuals For People Like "Yonkers Voice" Child Molester "Ru Ros"

LOL.... Maybe Someone Should Tell Alfred Rodrigues That The Best Way To Kill His Dream Of Leading A Gay Pride Parade In Getty Square Is To Team Up With A Pedophile

PEDO ON PATROL: Yonkers Child Molester Rui Benros AKA "#BenAnthony" AKA "Ru Ros" leaves his home base at 32 Ashburton Avenue to Getty Square to interview random people in the freezing cold - in an effort to appear relevant.

PEDO TV: Convicted Child Molester #RuiBenros AKA "Ben" AKA "Ru Ros" found a freezing young man who thinks Yonkers is ready for a #LGBTQ parade, because the Bronx has had one for four years in a row.

PEDO TUBE: "Yonkers Voice" Pedophile Rui Benros AKA "Ben" AKA "#RuRos" is clearly the wrong choice for this young man to be partnering with.

ROFLMAO...... What is Alfred Rodrigues going to do next ask Milo Yiannopoulos to be the grand marshal of the Yonkers Gay Pride Parade?

LOL.... Is The #ManBoyLoveAssociation going to have a float in Alfred Rodrigues "Yonkers LGBTQ Parade"

Why isn't Alfred Rodrigues working with someone more credible and reputable, like Yonkers City Council Minority Leader Michael Sabatino to bring his dream of a gay pride parade to the city of hills.

Sadly, Alfred Rodrigues is destroying his dream of a gay pride parade in Yonkers by going on PedoTube to talk with a Convicted Yonkers Molester on a freezing cold Getty Square street corner

JOURNAL NEWS: West Harrison perennial candidate seeks George Latimer's state Senate seat

Mark Jaffe Says Hold On There Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano, state Assemblywoman Shelley Mayer, Bedford Town Supervisor Chris Burdick And Bronx School Teacher Katherine Brezler, I Am The One To Replace George Latimer.....

Mark Jaffe expects they’ll call him a serial candidate.

But the West Harrison resident said losing five elections has given him experience for a try at state Senate.

“I know that people will talk about it,” he said. “I like to hear things because if they talk behind your back, you can’t address them. But I’m not scared of that, I’m proud of that.”

Jaffe is the latest Democrat to announce a run for the 37th district seat held by state Sen. George Latimer. Latimer is leaving his post in January after winning election as Westchester County executive.

Since there won’t be a primary ahead of a special election to fill the seat,  it’ll be up to county Democratic Party leaders to decide on a candidate.....

DEA: Phone Tip Leads to Seizure of Cocaine & 19K Heroin Envelopes

Photo:
James J. Hunt, Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s New York Division (DEA)

Joon H. Kim, Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York; Charles Gardner, Yonkers Police Department Commissioner (the YPD); and James J. Hunt, Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s New York Division (DEA), has announced the arrest of three men relating to 13 kilograms of cocaine and nearly 19,000 glassines of heroin in a house in Yonkers.
Ansley R. Estrella, Ronald E. Leon, and Luis Oscar Reyes were all charged Friday in a complaint with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine and more than one kilogram of heroin.
“After receiving a call about suspicious activity near a house in suburban Yonkers, responding officers allegedly discovered massive quantities of cocaine and heroin, as well as drug paraphernalia, in that home,” explained Acting U.S. Attorney Joon H. Kim.
“We commend our law enforcement partners for their swift and effective response to this potentially dangerous situation, and the citizens who notified them when something just didn’t look right.”
“Citizens can play an important role in keeping dangerous drugs, including opioids, off our streets.”
“A parent’s worst fear is a heroin dealer setting up shop next door,” said DEA Special Agent in Charge James J. Hunt.
“This case is a reminder that drug traffickers’ greed outweighs the safety of their neighbors.”
“Law enforcement is committed to keeping a vigilant eye out for drug dealers like these whose trafficking encourages heroin abuse, crime and drug related violence, allegedly.”
“A thorough investigation conducted by the responding Yonkers police officers resulted in the discovery of a large scale narcotics distribution operation and the arrest of three individuals,” added Yonkers Police Commissioner Charles Gardner.
“We are working with our federal law enforcement partners on the follow-up investigation and the prosecution of these males.”
“I would like to thank the DEA and the U.S. Attorney’s office for their support and invaluable assistance.”
According to the allegations made in the Complaint:[1]
On the evening of December 7, 2017, YPD officers received a call indicating that three men had pushed a fourth man into a house in Yonkers, New York.
YPD officers responded to the house, and saw Estrella walk out of the house.  The man said he lived in the house with his girlfriend, and that nobody was in the house.
The officers could see – through the closed shades – silhouettes of people moving inside the house.  Nonetheless, the man repeated that nobody was in the house.
As YPD officers approached the open front door, they saw Reyes, with a surgical mask on, and then Leon, also with a surgical mask on, who had blood on his face.
The YPD officers entered the house, where Leon denied being hurt.
YPD officers walked through the house to see if there were any additional people committing an ongoing crime or if there were victims in the house.
In a room on the second floor, they found white powder, respiratory masks, and, in an open closet, a large number of glassine envelopes and scales.
In the garage, an YPD officer found a car with an open shopping bag, in which the YPD Officer could see what appeared to be bundles of decks of heroin.
The YPD officers placed Estrella, Leon, and Reyes under arrest.  Leon had keys in his possession for the car in the garage.
The YPD obtained and executed a search warrant and did a full search of the house and the car in the garage, as well as two other cars.
During that search, the YPD found, among other things, 13 kilogram-sized bricks of cocaine, 18,598 glassine envelopes containing heroin, 813 tan pills stamped “M30,” a number of plastic bags and clear knotted twists containing white chunky substances, a scale, five small grinders, assorted stamp pads and stamps, a metal kilogram press, and a money-counting machine.
The Complaint charges each of Estrella, Leon, and Reyes with one count of narcotics conspiracy, and one count of distribution and possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, and aiding and abetting the same.
Mr. Kim thanked the DEA, White Plains Resident Office and YPD for their outstanding work on the investigation.
This case is being handled by the Office’s White Plains Division.  Assistant United States Attorney Michael Maimin is in charge of the prosecution.
The charges contained in the Complaint are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
[1] As the introductory phrase signifies, the entirety of the text of the Complaint, and the description of the Complaint set forth herein, constitute only allegations, and every fact described should be treated as allegations.

SPANO FOR SENATE: A lifelong Yonkers resident, husband, father of three, and former State Assembly Member, Mayor Mike Spano has dedicated his life to improving Yonkers.

We can count on him to keep Yonkers moving forward for those who live, work or raise their families here.

Elected in 1992 as the youngest member of the State Assembly, Mike Spano proudly represented Yonkers for two decades, working to improve education, protecting taxpayers and creating economic growth.

He led the Task Force on Sex Crimes Against Children and Women (SAVE New York), fought for the passage of Megans Law, and secured legislation to protect children across the state.

He was also the first legislator to propose bringing video lottery terminals to Yonkers Raceway – not only saving the Raceway from closing, but creating a casino that employs hundreds of people and sends $20 million a year directly to Yonkers Schools.

Mike Spano helped create the New York State School Tax Relief (STAR) program and Enhanced STAR.

He worked with Governor Andrew Cuomo to pass New York’s property tax cap, bringing government in line with what taxpayers can afford. Since becoming Mayor in 2012,

Mike Spano has led the passage of four balanced, bi-partisan budgets, all within the tax cap and without cuts to services.

At the same time he has increased the City’s contribution to our schools each year.

Mayor Mike Spano also launched one of the most ambitious and comprehensive energy plans of any city in the state – Yonkers Green City – saving taxpayers millions of dollars in energy costs, while protecting the environment.

With a strong focus on job creation and economic development, Mayor Mike Spano is leading Yonkers’ revitalization with innovative new projects that are transforming Yonkers’ growing waterfront, attracting new businesses, tech companies and the arts, and creating hundreds of new jobs across the city.

Today, Yonkers is the fastest growing city in the state outside #NewYorkCity, sales revenues are up, home sales are up and property values are on the rise.

Yonkers has recently been ranked among the Safest Cities In America and in the Top 100 Best Cities in which to live.

Mayor Mike Spano is committed to securing a strong financial future for Yonkers and building upon its greatest strengths – its location, its history, its pride and its people.

PRESS RELEASE: Yonkers Police Arrest 3 Men for Illegal Dumping in Cook Field - Westchester County Police Aviation Unit Provides Eye in the Sky

YONKERS POLICE SUPPORTED BY WEST COUNTY PD AVIATION ARREST 3 FOR ILLEGAL DUMPING IN COOK FIELD

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: On Thursday, December 14th, 2017, at approximately 8:06 PM, members of the Yonkers Police Department 2nd Precinct responded to the area of Cook Field upon being alerted by the Westchester County Department of Public Safety Aviation Unit of an in-progress dumping incident in the parking lot adjacent to the field.

YONKERS: Officer Pilots Brady and Pucillo of the WCPD advised Yonkers that several occupants of a white van had dumped debris, and were attempting to leave the park with their headlights turned off.

Yonkers police arrived and intercepted the van; the occupants were identified and subsequently arrested for illegally dumping a couch and chair in the parking lot.

Further investigation yielded that the vehicle was not registered and had improper license plates affixed – the vehicle was impounded for the illegal dumping and Vehicle & Traffic Law violations.

The defendants are identified as van operator Abdallah ALRABADI, a 35 year old male resident of Kimball Avenue, Yonkers; and passengers Luis MONTES, a 21 year old male resident of Roberts Avenue, Yonkers; and Julio LUGO, a 25 year old male resident of Orlando, Florida.

All three men were charged with City Ordinance Violation code 91.38 Dumping Prohibited, an unclassified Misdemeanor, in addition to several moving violation summonses.

Mayor Mike Spano stated, “The quality of life of our residents is one of our top priorities so when individuals are caught dumping on Yonkers, it is not tolerated. We have increased the penalties and fines so to discourage this illegal and disrespectful action. We plan on selling the vehicle used in this case to pay for the mess. Let this be a lesson – Don’t Dump on Yonkers!”

Police Commissioner #CharlesGardner stated, “Illegal dumping is a crime, and diminishes the quality of life in our City. The Yonkers Police Department working together with our partners in law enforcement will deliver perpetrators who engage in this illegal activity into the Criminal Justice System where they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, including the seizure of their vehicle. I would like to thank the Westchester County Department of Public Safety Aviation Unit for their invaluable assistance with these arrests.”

The prosecution of this case is being managed by the Corporation Counsel of the City of Yonkers.

NOTE: Booking charges are merely accusations and the defendant(s) are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

Yonkers Schools Superintendent #EdwinQuezada Screws Up.....

JOURNAL NEWS: No air conditioning in Yonkers school expansions
By Ernie Garcia

YONKERS: Expansion projects for three school buildings won't include air-conditioning, despite parents' requests.

The Yonkers Public Schools expects to spend millions of dollars expanding or renovating the Eugenio Maria de Hostos School, School 30 and the Khalil Gibran School to ease severe overcrowding in the district.

As part of the expansion, schools Superintendent Edwin Quezada recently held community meetings to discuss the conceptual plans and solicit feedback, which included parental concerns about a lack of air-conditioning impairing children's ability to learn....

ROFLMAO.... Superintendent Edwin Quezada Wants Yonkers Students To Have Facilities To That Are Comparable To A Third World Bananna Republic.....

"Every parent wants air-conditioning in the schools. That's not something we can accommodate and it's not something that in reality gets in the way of learning," Edwin Quezada. "If that (were the case) I would not know anything. I come from a country and went to schools where there was never air-conditioning, so it doesn't hinder learning in any way, shape or form."

Edwin Quezada grew up in the Dominican Republic.

YONKERS FLASHBACK: Anthony Mangone Gets One Year And One Day In Yonkers Corruption Case On August 11, 2016

A disbarred lawyer and former Republican political fixer who helped prosecutors convict four elected officials got a break of sorts from a federal judge, but will still went to prison.

Anthony Mangone was sentenced to one year and one day in prison for bribery and tax fraud.

He had originally received an 18-month prison term in December, but that sentence was overturned because U.S. District Judge Colleen McMahon had relied on the wrong sentencing guideline.

http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/disgraced-ex-yonkers-city-councilwoman-convicted-bribes-vote-bruce-ratner-project-article-1.1052894

Judge McMahon told Mangone that she could not give him a "trivial" sentence and that the public's confidence in government required her to send a message regardless of his cooperation.

She called public corruption, and specifically bribery of a public official, among the most serious crimes.

Mangone, 42, of Harrison, was given until Sept. 26 to begin serving his prison term. He has requested to serve it at a federal prison in Miami, where he has family.

Prosecutors urged leniency and he and his lawyers sought no prison time, citing his extensive cooperation. Mangone helped the feds convict his co-defendants, former Yonkers Councilwoman #SandyAnnabi and her cousin, former Yonkers GOP chairman #ZehyJereis.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/30/nyregion/two-convicted-in-yonkers-corruption-case.html

Information he provided also led to guilty pleas by two former Republican state senators — his political mentor Nicholas Spano and Vincent Leibell — and the conviction of a third, Thomas Libous.

Mangone was indicted along with Sandy Annabi and Zehy Jereis in January 2010 on bribery charges.

Jereis had plied Annabi with money and gifts for years to control her vote and cashed in in 2006 when she reversed her opposition to two development deals.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/14/nyregion/tracking-the-tentacles-of-corruption.html

One was the Ridge Hill project that became the city's biggest-ever development. The other was a comparatively minor land swap deal that #MilioManagement wanted so it could build senior housing at the former Longfellow School.

That's where Mangone fit in: He passed along a $20,000 bribe from his clients, the Milios, to Jereis for Annabi to support the deal.

Mangone began cooperating in March 2010 and pleaded guilty nine months later to bribery and unrelated tax-fraud charges for failing to report cash income he received at his law firm. He repaid more than $82,000 in taxes this year.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/yonkers-pol-sandy-annabi-bribe-ratner-deal-feds-article-1.461698

Mangone had an expensive casino gambling habit, for several years playing blackjack, craps and roulette on a regular basis.

His gambling losses at two Atlantic City casinos totaled $149,000 in 2008 and 2009 and he sometimes used his client escrow accounts to pay down his debts.

Mangone began working for Nick Spano, the powerful senator from Yonkers, in the 1990s and eventually rose to be his chief of staff and chief counsel.

While in law school, Mangone helped engineer a vote-rigging scandal that landed senator Spano the Green Party nomination in his 2000 re-election bid. Mangone admitted that he put Spano's name on more than two dozen absentee ballots belonging to unwitting voters in the Green Party primary.

http://www.westchestermagazine.com/Westchester-Magazine/February-2016/Rise-Fall-Rise-Nick-Spano/

Only one person, political operative Dennis Wedra Sr., was charged in the case. Mangone testified at the grand jury and at the trial that Spano had no knowledge of the scheme.

At Annabi and Jereis' trial, Mangone conceded that he had lied to protect Spano, and that the senator knew what he had done for him to rig the nomination.

Mangone also admitted that in 2006 he and Jereis arranged to pay an unnamed candidate not to run against Spano in the Independence Party primary.

http://westchester.news12.com/story/34891989/alleged-co-conspirators-in-yonkers-bribery-case-maintain-innocence

Defense lawyer Jeffrey Lichtman had sought McMahon's replacement because of some of the things she said about Mangone.

But the Court of Appeals did not remove her, saying she had not shown bias and could remain fair..

Jeffery Lichtman said afterwards he was surprised, but thankful, she had reduced her initial sentence.

PRESS RELEASE: The Afya Foundation Responds to the Syrian Refugee Crisis by Shipping its 2nd Container

The Afya Foundation has been a steady responder to the Syrian refugee crisis, by shipping supplies valued at over $1.2 million to health care providers in Lesvos, Greece, and throughout the Middle East, with all sites offering access to care and medical treatment for refugees.

Afya is forging new partnerships with the Multifaith Alliance for Syrian Refugees (MFA) and Israel, we are now assured safe shipment and delivery of critically needed medical aid to carefully-vetted Providers in Southern Syria.
YONKERS, NY — December 16, 2017 — The Afya Foundation has launched a significant humanitarian relief effort to help medical professionals and aid workers in Syria provide medical care to thousands of refugees.  Afya’s first container to Syria was successfully delivered and unpacked and the 2nd container will be packed on Monday, December 18th.
Afya responded yesterday by sourcing and packing medical supplies for a 40-foot container to be shipped through this newly established channel. The appeal for these critical items came from a wish list put together by Medical Leaders in Israel familiar with the desperate needs of those in camps and hospitals.
“We founded Afya because we could no longer be bystanders when we knew that getting needed medical supplies and support to areas in crisis was a practical – and meaningful – way to help,” said Danielle Butin, M.P.H., O.T. R., founder and executive director of the Afya Foundation.
Rabbi Joy Levitt, Executive Director of the JCC Manhattan, will offer a blessing for health and relief as the container is packed and sealed for shipment abroad.
“The UN has called the Syrian refugee crisis, the worst humanitarian crisis since WWII. As we have done with many of these life-altering, country-changing events, Afya establishes influential partnerships to get medical providers the equipment and support they need to help their people,” Butin continued.
We urge your support for Afya’s efforts to ensure that medical professionals in Syria can deliver life-saving care to thousands of war victims in need. Please go to: https://afyafoundation.org/make-a-donation/#gf_11 .
The first container to Syria supported the establishment of a maternity unit and many primary care clinics. One 40-foot container holds enough medical supplies to provide care to thousands of war victims.
###
Afya is a unique medical supply recovery organization (MSRO) that collects surplus medical supplies throughout the United States and delivers these critical materials to public health missions worldwide. A regional network of medical suppliers and volunteers enables Afya to meet immediate humanitarian needs in countries devastated by natural disasters, international conflicts and supports our long-term programs to address chronic health disparities in developing nations. By reducing the amount of unused medical supplies generated in the US, Afya promotes efficient and environmentally aware healthcare practices at home while sustaining life abroad.

Since its founding in 2008, Afya has recovered and shipped over 7.5 million pounds of donated supplies to more than 70 countries. The organization has been recognized by the Greater New York Hospital Association, Eli Lilly, GreatNonprofits and the United Nations.

JOURNAL NEWS: Yonkers approves pro-life group home for pregnant women

A group opposed to abortion has received permission from #Yonkers to open a group home for pregnant women on St. Joseph's Avenue.

The Yonkers City Council voted Tuesday to approve a special use and site plan for the former #StJosephsConvent at 12 St. Joseph's Ave.

A Roman Catholic charity called Good Counsel of Hoboken, New Jersey, wants to convert the convent into a transitional residence for women who need support during their pregnancies.

Under the conditions approved by the City Council, the 16-bed residence cannot shelter more than 24 people.

"There would be some clients who might come to the residence with a younger child," Yonkers' planning director #LeeEllman told the City Council's Real Estate Committee on Dec. 5.

"So rather than have something that became too overcrowded, the (Yonkers Planning Board) felt it was equitable to say that 16 bedrooms, 16 residents, whatever infant child might be born there through the residents, and then no more than eight additional children that would reside at the facility."......
