JOURNAL NEWS: West Harrison perennial candidate seeks George Latimer's state Senate seat

Mark Jaffe Says Hold On There Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano, state Assemblywoman Shelley Mayer, Bedford Town Supervisor Chris Burdick And Bronx School Teacher Katherine Brezler, I Am The One To Replace George Latimer.....

Mark Jaffe expects they’ll call him a serial candidate.

But the West Harrison resident said losing five elections has given him experience for a try at state Senate.

“I know that people will talk about it,” he said. “I like to hear things because if they talk behind your back, you can’t address them. But I’m not scared of that, I’m proud of that.”

Jaffe is the latest Democrat to announce a run for the 37th district seat held by state Sen. George Latimer. Latimer is leaving his post in January after winning election as Westchester County executive.

Since there won’t be a primary ahead of a special election to fill the seat,  it’ll be up to county Democratic Party leaders to decide on a candidate.....
