One of Yonkers' oldest churches was recently demolished for a residential tower.
On Monday there was nothing but an empty lot and construction debris at 40-48 Hudson St., the site of the former Christian Life Fellowship Church and St. John's German Evangelical Lutheran Church.
The property is owned by Hudson Holdings NY LLC of Kew Gardens, New York.
The company has submitted an application to the Yonkers Planning Board for a 156-unit tower with a 153-car parking lot.
The church building dated to 1874, according to its German-language cornerstone...
