New Murals for Bashford Street And South Broadway In Yonkers

Yonkers program adds murals on S. Broadway and 'mural alley'

City officials and property owners met last week for a "signing ceremony" for a mural called "Dew" by Juan Bernal at 472 S. Broadway. Meanwhile, the artist Marcin Wlodarczyk recently finished a mural on Bashford Street just north of Larkin Plaza that already had two other murals recently painted for Yonkers Arts Weekend.

The "Dew" mural is next to J&M Party Supply and Flower Shop and store manager Areli Moran said the project was a good idea.


"It helps improve the neighborhood's image," she said, adding that she'd like the city to undertake other, costlier improvements. "Maybe they can pave the street because it's very deteriorated and they improve street lighting."
