The state Attorney General'sd Office is taking over the investigation into the death of a Yonkers city official's nephew who died in police custody following an alleged shoplifting incident in Westchester. Jonathan Maldonado, 21 - Yonkers City Council president-elect Mike Khader's nephew - died on Wednesday after being tasered by police in Greenburgh following a struggle with officers.

Demolition Work To Shut Down Busy Yonkers Roadway

The Yonkers Police Department issued an alert cautioning that Warburton Avenue will be closed in both directions between Ashburton Avenue and Wells Avenue beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday morning as crews perform demolition work. Police said that the full closure is expected to last between 8 and twelve hours.
