FOCUS ON: Julianna Margulies' Yonkers Connection


Television actress Julianna Margulies graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in the City of Yonkers in 1989. 

She has starred in The Good Wife, ER, Paradise Road, Canterbury's Law and The Sopranos.

Margulies, who delivered the 2010 Commencement Address at Sarah Lawrence College, is widely respected for the integrity of her work in film, television, and theater.

Getting her start in student productions at Sarah Lawrence, she won best actress Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards in 2010 for her leading role in the CBS series The Good Wife.

Sarah Lawrence College was established in the City of Yonkers by real-estate mogul William Van Duzer Lawrence in honor of his wife, Sarah Bates Lawrence. The college was originally intended to provide instruction in the arts and humanities for women.
