Yonkers Avenue building evacuated after discovery of drug lab

Today Con Ed workers stumbling on what appeared to be a drug manufacturing setup in an apartment at 26 Yonkers Avenue.

Some of the chemicals used in this type of thing can be quite volatile.

Yonkers police and fire responded, and for a while this afternoon eastbound Yonkers Avenue between Nepperhan Avenue and Oak Street was closed to traffic.

Police also took the precaution of evacuating the building before attempting to remove the chemicals. 

Police aren't releasing much information but here is what News12 is reporting:

No arrests have been made yet, and police have not said what drugs were being created. Link
