Four Westchester Cities Designated As 'Hub' Drug Treatment Courts By DA

Four of the Hudson Valley's largest cities have been designated as "Hub" drug treatment courts by Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. Mount Vernon, New Rochelle, White Plains and Yonkers have been designated as "Hub" Courts, which will make drug treatment courts more accessible to those suffering from substance dependency and military veterans that may be dealing with combat-related disorders and had run-ins with law enforcement. The Westchester County Drug Court Enhancement Project - which will be under the direction of Ninth Judicial District Administrative Judge Alan Scheinkman - is aimed to focus on the needs of those suffering from opioid use disorders and justice-involved military veterans.

Westchester District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. who campaigned on a platform to create coordinated drug treatment courts in Westchester County, announced that Mount Vernon, New Rochelle, White Plains and Yonkers are now designated as "Hub" Courts. The "Hub" Court designation will make drug treatment courts accessible to individuals who suffer from alcohol and drug dependency and military veterans who have had run-ins with the law.

'Lifetime' Sex Offender Reports Move In Yonkers

A registered "lifetime" sexual offender convicted of raping a woman in 1983 has reported an address change in Westchester County. The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 58-year-old Juanito Soto, who has reported an address change to an apartment on Ludlow Street in Yonkers.
