Yonkers Woman Caught With Stun Gun, Fake License, Police Say

A 19-year-old woman was arrested in Yorktown for possessing a stun gun and a fake driver's license following a traffic stop on Croton Lake Road. Edona Djonbalaj of Yonkers was arrested and charged Monday with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the third degree, a Class A misdemeanor and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a Class A misdemeanor.

Westchester County native Maggie Harding Vatter, formerly of Cornwall, died following a long illness on Thursday, Sept. 28, in Providence, R.I. She was 52. The daughter of Patrick Joseph Harding and the late Maurie Panzer Harding, Vatter was born at St. John's Hospital in Yonkers on Oct. 29, 1964.

New Rochelle Police have arrested 4 men in connection with two shootings in New Rochelle with possible links to the shooting of a Yonkers Police officer last week. Jerry Reyes was arrested on October 4th along with Nicholas Terico and Angel Sandoval for their role in a shooting at 62 Remington Place.

For the second day in a row Yonkers police investigated a suspicious white powder incident, this time at a school, according to Yonkers Police. Yonkers police responded to 77 Lee Ave., the address for St Paul the Apostle School, around 9:16 a.m. Thursday to investigate a white powder found in a plastic bag, police said.

Police Seek Help In Investigation Of Skeletal Remains Found In Yonkers

Police are asking the public for help with information surrounding the death of a Yonkers man whose skeletal remains were found wrapped in a rolled up carpet in June. The remains, of Michael Newman, aka Michael Nuwnen, a middle-aged resident of Westchester County, were discovered at P165 Bruce Ave. at approximately 4:30 p.m. on June 5. Preliminary reports found that the remains were possibly discarded at the location where they were discovered, said Det.
