Yonkers, NY—Football fans will score a touchdown when Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl champion and inspirational leader Rocky Bleier soars into the Empire City Casino end zone on Sunday night, October 29th from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m.
The popular halfback will meet and greet fans prior to the Steelers vs. Detroit Lions Sunday night game at Dan Rooney’s Sports Bar. Kick-off is at 8:30 p.m.
Bleier will forever be remembered for his inspirational story of losing part of his right foot due to injuries sustained in combat during the Vietnam War, and making it all the way back to win four Super Bowl championships as a key player on the Steelers.
In 1979, he caught the touchdown pass from Terry Bradshaw that gave Pittsburgh the lead over Dallas in Super Bowl XIII, and then recovered the Cowboys’ onside kick in the closing seconds, sealing the Steelers’ victory.
The first 150 fans in attendance will be able to take a photograph with the four-time Super Bowl titlist.
