A registered "lifetime" sexual offender convicted of raping a woman in 1983 has reported an address change in Westchester County.
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 58-year-old Juanito Soto, who has reported an address change to an apartment on Loudoun Street in Yonkers.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Soto a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated for lifetime registration, though he is subject to petition for relief.
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Soto had sexual contact with his 27-year-old victim in August 1983, using a weapon while committing the crime. He was convicted of first-degree rape in 1985 and sentenced to a term of between 150 months and 25 years in state prison. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Yonkers City Police Department SOR Unit.
